Bill Gates announced today his plans to move Microsoft to the “front of the pack” in terms of patent filings.
Microsoft plans to file more than 3,000 patents in fiscal 2005 compared with “something over” 2,000 patent filings the previous year, Gates said.
According to Patent Office Registration Statistics, Microsoft currently employs 29 patent attorneys and 2 patent agents.
